Just 2 days ago I suddenly realized why Flat-rate ads should not be compared in performance with PPC or CPM ads. I have seen all ad networks (which provide flat-rate ads) providing comparison between flat-rate ads and PPC or CPM ads. That means, advertisers are supposed to run flat-rate ads if they perform better than PPC or CPM ads. But there’s a big mistake here they make. Let’s see how.

If you run a PPC or CPM ad on any site, it doesn’t remain alone on the site, rather it is surrounded by other ads also. So, evidently, the visibility of your ad is very low as well as significance as regards to the visitors. In addition to this, your link doesn’t remain all the time on that site due to rotation of ads. In conclusion, you (the advertiser) don’t look like a sponsor of that site. Evidently, this prevents in making you genuine in the mind of the visitor.

Now, consider the flat-rate ad on any site. Have a look at DoshDosh. Though I don’t inspire immediately to click on the flat-rate ads shown on DoshDosh, many times I have seen them accidentally due to their fixed position and so I feel that they should be genuine. If some day I require any Internet Marketing firm on the web, naturally I will look at Marketing Ninjas, because I have seen them many times on DoshDosh. In such cases, the advertisers may not get clicks on their ads, but in reality, they are leaving a positive impact on the visitor’s mind.

So, by showing flat-rate ads consistently, the advertisers can easily gain their status and genuineness over their competitors and that’s what they need ultimately.
